SHU student juggles running a business and pursuing a degree

Megan Uhrynowski says she’s found a balance between life as a student and as a downtown Fairfield business owner.

“It’s definitely been a struggle, but both have been rewarding,” she said. “Seeing the impact you can have on the community and finishing school at the same time is a really awesome accomplish­ment.”

The 20yearold Stratford resident opened Next Level Nutrition at 1552 Post Road in August prior to starting her senior year at Sacred Heart University. She is expected to graduate in December with her bachelor’s degree in mathematic­s.

The young entreprene­ur said she wanted to bring a healthcons­cious business eatery to Fairfield’s residents and bevy of students.

The smoothiean­dtea bar features more than 50 shake flavors, which Uhrynowski said run between 180 and 220 calories. The business also offers dozens of sugarfree selections.

“There is also not much around here for fast and easy smoothies to go, so I thought that this area would benefit from having us in town,” she said in a press release. “Everyone is looking to get a healthy onthego option and we offer that.”
