Ethel A. (DeMarco) Rich, age 103, of Shelton, peacefully entered into rest in her home on Sunday, January 10, 2021 with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry T. Rich. Ethel was born in Shelton on June 4, 1917, daughter of the late Joseph DeMarco Sr. and Philomena (Pastore) DeMarco, and was a lifelong Shelton resident. She worked as a dental assistant for 30 years for Hebert Steiman in Shelton. She also served on the board of the AARP and belonged to the Mission Club and the Stork Club. Ethel was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church and served as President and VP of the St. Joseph Rosary Society, and as an altar angel.

She is the beloved mother of Kenneth R. Rich and his wife Joyce, Leonard F. Rich and his wife Carol, Terrance H. Rich, and Elizabeth Rich. She leaves 18 cherished grandchild­ren, 29 great-grandchild­ren, 2 greatgreat-grandchild­ren, and many nieces and nephews. Ethel was predecease­d by a son, Irving Rich, and daughter, Jeanne Rich Miko, daughter-in-law, Patricia Rich, three brothers, Henry, Joseph, and Alexander DeMarco, and two sisters, Margaret Geissler and Eleanor Ciccarelli. Due to the pandemic, a memorial service will be held at St. Joseph Church in the future at a time to be announced. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton has been entrusted with her arrangemen­ts. Friends may leave condolence­s online at www.riverviewf­h.com.
