Alma Jean Ramia

Alma Jean Ramia, age 95, of Shelton, entered into rest on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at the Lutheran Home of Southbury with her family by her side. She was a devoted wife for 58 years to the late George P. Ramia. Alma was born in Derby on September 27, 1926, daughter of the late Charles Augustus and Nellie (Hulbert) DuBail, and was a lifelong resident of Shelton. She was a graduate of Shelton HS Class of 1944 and worked as an accountant at the former Sponge Rubber Product Co in Ansonia, head waitress at the Eight Acres Restaurant in Shelton, and as a bookkeeper for George’s Sunoco Station in Shelton. Alma was involved with the Shelton Senior Center, particular­ly the Sewing Club. She was a great cook and baker. She loved to read and watch hummingbir­ds. She will be sadly missed. She is the beloved mother of Darlene Ann Rogg and husband George and Donald K. Ramia and wife Kathleen.

She was the proud grandmothe­r of two grandsons, Jeffrey Ramia and wife Nicole and Marc Ramia, and four great-grandchild­ren, Brandon and Lily and Elias and Everett. They were the “love of her life.” She also leaves a few special nieces, nephews, and cousins. Alma was also predecease­d by her daughter, Deborah J. Ramia, and several siblings. Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday, September 16, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Her service will begin in the Funeral Home at Noon. Masks are required inside. Burial will follow at Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributi­ons are requested to St. Paul Episcopal Church, 25 Church Street, Shelton, CT 06484.
