John Najda

John Najda, age 69, beloved husband and soulmate of Irene Stolarczyk Najda passed away at home on September 11, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born in Derby on May 28, 1952, son of the late Kasimir Najda and Emily Pczonka Najda, and remained a resident of the Valley. He graduated from Shelton High School Class of 1971 and was a Veteran of the US Army. John retired from Sikorsky Aircraft after 39 years of service as a proud member of the V.H hanger - Marine One Helicopter Team. A lifelong Boston Red Sox fan, John enjoyed bowling and listening to the music of Pink Floyd, the Eagles, the Doors, and many more at home and live in concert. He enjoyed cruising and traveling the world with his wife making lasting memories. John was a hard working, easy going man who will be missed terribly by family and friends. He is survived by his siblings Cecylia Markut, Betty (Steve) Marciniak, Jack Najda, and Thomas Najda, step-children Joseph Eye and Deborah Eye Steller, and several nieces, nephews, grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. He was predecease­d by his brothers Peter and Frank Najda, his sister Theresa Najda, and beloved step-daughter Marilyn Eye Twigg. A special thank you to Father Krzysztof and the Masonicare Hospice team that cared for John. On Wednesday, friends may greet the family from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. On Thursday, friends are invited to his graveside service at 10:30 AM at Mt. Meadow Cemetery, 117 Mountain Rd., Seymour.
