Tickets for Bridgeport Islanders games are on sale, and fans wishing to attend will need proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or a recent negative test, the team announced Monday along with its promotional schedule.

The team’s COVID-19 policy says fans age 12 and over will need to be fully vaccinated (two weeks after the final required dose, depending on the vaccine), show proof of a negative rapid antigen test taken within six hours of faceoff, or show proof of a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of game day.

“The City of Bridgeport currently requires all attendees to wear a face mask while inside the arena,” the team said.

Bridgeport plans a promotion for each of its 36 home games, bringing back some familiar standbys and adding some others. A few that never happened in spring 2020 because of the pandemic may finally get their day, like Girls Hockey Weekend.

“We’re proud to offer our fans more variety and creativity than we ever have this season as we enhance the game-night experience at Webster Bank Arena,” said Tim Farrell, Bridgeport Islanders Vice President of Marketing, in a statement.

The team won’t have its usual school-group morning game in the fall but plans two after New Year’s.

There are five Sundays with $10 kids tickets. The Teddy Bear Toss returns on Dec. 11.

There are games for autism awareness and to honor first responders, for cancer awareness and military appreciation. There is also a superhero weekend, Star Wars Night, a wizarding night and a prince and princess night.

The team’s first home game as the Islanders after 20 years as the Sound Tigers is Oct. 23.

“We’re genuinely so excited to welcome our fans back to home games this season,” Islanders president of business operations Brent Rossi said. “I think there’s a strong appetite for fans and families in our area to come out and this is going to be a special season for many different reasons, beginning with opening night in less than six weeks.”
