Stephen R. Pease (Cellar), 34, passed away unexpected­ly on Saturday, October 23, 2021. He was born on December 26, 1986 in New Haven, Connecticu­t and raised in Fairfield, Connecticu­t. Growing up, Stephen was an accomplish­ed athlete. He was an avid baseball player, wrestler, rugby player, and football player. He was a fierce competitor. Among his numerous athletic accomplish­ments were participat­ion in Fairfield’s football and wrestling programs, many summers at football camp, and competed in the Punt Pass and Kick competitio­n held at halftime during the Jets Patriots game in 1991 in front of 78,000 fans. Stephen proudly attended Coastal Carolina University (CCU) where he played on the rugby team and earned co-captain status in 2009. The team went undefeated that year and won the National Championsh­ip.

Stephen met the love of his life at CCU and they began dating after graduation. Stephen and Kristy had their beautiful daughter Rylee in 2012, were happily married in 2015, and in 2016they welcomed Charleywhi­ch completed their family.

Anyone that knew Stephen could tell you that he was a hardworkin­g man who never met a stranger and would gladly offer the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Stephen was a skilled entreprene­ur and knowledgea­ble business partner who saw potential in his business, strived for growth, and was integral in making it the successful business it is today. Stephen was a “Jack of all Trades” with an infinite understand­ing of various things. He was kind and loyal and would valiantly take on any problem or obstacle, head on.

In his free time, Stephen found peace with the wind in his hair and the sun warm on his face while on his motorcycle. Above anything and all else, Stephen was a family man and truly relished spending time with his wife and children. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the amazing husband, father, and friend he truly was.

Left to cherish Stephen’s memory are his beloved wife Kristy Pease and their adoring daughters Rylee and Charley of Myrtle Beach, SC; his father Richard Cellar II and wife Quezia Cellar with their daughter Jamily of CT; his stepmother Kathleen Keeler-Cellar ofSC; his mother-in-law Susan Giannetti and father-in-law Lawrence Giannetti of SC; his grandfathe­r Richard Cellar and companion Connie Lehaney of CT; his grandmothe­r Alice Ferrigno of CT; his half-brotherRic­hard Cellar III of CT; his halfsister­Ashley Harp of FL; several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins; a large, loving, extended family; as well as an army of supportive friends, neighbors, and patrons.

A celebratio­n of Stephen’s life will be held on Friday October 29, 2021 beginning at 4:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576. Burial will be held privately.

A memorial service will be held for Stephen’s friends in Connecticu­t at a later date.
