Curley best choice for Fairfield board

-

I have never written a letter to the editor before, but I am compelled to do so now. I have known Craig Curley for seven years. Seven years or seven days, it doesn’t matter. Once you meet Craig, you realize pretty quickly just how incredibly smart and compassionate a man he is, and just how lucky Fairfield would be to have him on the Board of Finance.

Our sons went to Warde together, but it wasn’t until they went on to college, as roommates and fraternity brothers, that I truly got to know Craig. He and Cathy have raised two fine young men of character. It’s clear that the apples did not fall far from the tree.

Over the years, I’ve gotten to learn about Craig’s position as managing director of BofA’s renewable energy finance group. Learning about his profession and truly understanding the comprehensive nature of such work, however, are two vastly different concepts. Among other things, Craig is responsible for the creation and management of complex financial and analytical models relating to billions of dollars of investments. And he’s good at it. Real good.

But Craig’s success is not limited to his professional career. Fairfielders need no further evidence than the 10-year renovation of the Clubhouse at Smith Richardson — Craig drafted the proposal, sought and received approval of same, and then managed the project to its timely and successful fruition.

I believe that Craig is successful because he’s passionate about making the world a better place. While I can’t speak to its effect on the world, I have no doubt that electing Craig to the BoF will certainly help make Fairfield a better place, especially at a time when that help is truly needed. Please vote for Craig Curley for the BOF on Nov. 2.
