Maria Giancarli (Ciocca), 86, of Bridgeport, Connecticu­t, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on October 30, 2021, at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Born April 30, 1935, in Ripi, Italy, she was predecease­d by her parents, Pietro and Santa of Ripi, Italy and her late husband, Antonio Giancarli.

Maria immigrated to this country from Italy in 1967. Along with her husband, Antonio, she was the proud owner and operator of the Italian Importing Company, on Madison Avenue, where she worked tirelessly seven days a week for over 30+ years. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed attending church, where she sang in the choir, preparing a delicious meal for family and friends, or outside working in her prize-winning garden. She was always active and busy until her stroke in January of 2019. She has been a resident at St. Joseph’s Manor in Trumbull, Connecticu­t since that point.

Maria is survived by her son Vincenzo Giancarli and his wife Maria, daughter Domenica Giancarli, daughter Lisena Giancarli, and son Antonio Giancarli Jr. and his wife Megan. She is also survived by her pride and joy, her four grandchild­ren, Sebastian Garcia,

Ivana Giancarli, Madeline Giancarli, and Olivia Giancarli. Three brothers, John Ciocca of Palm Coast, FL, Ralph Ciocca of Canada, and Leo Ciocca of East Haven, CT.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. in the ParenteLau­ro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Avenue, Bridgeport, CT, and a Mass of the Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Margaret Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport, CT.
