August Antonini (Augie) age 86 of Fairfield, passed away peacefully at home on January 18, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born in Bridgeport on June 28, 1935, he was the son of the late Ernesto and Assunta (Mencarelli) Antonini. Augie was predecease­d by his sister, Sister Emma, his brothers; Anthony and Angelo, and his brotherin-law, Guido Vagnini, his sister-in-law, Phyllis Antonini, his son-in-law, Richard Donenfeld.

Augie was the lead foreman/mason for the city of Bridgeport and then a building inspector before he retired. In addition to that he worked at Smith Richardson Golf Course in Fairfield as a starter. Augie was devoted to his wife and family. He also formed many lifelong friendship­s at Smith Richardson and Fairchild Wheeler as well, where he enjoyed going with friends to Duchess for breakfast and Testo’s. A gentle, caring person, Augie loved his family and friends, and will be missed by all.

In addition to his beloved wife Nanci, Augie’s memory will be embraced by his children; Sheree (Tom) Cherry, Teresa Brim, Donna Antonini (Donenfeld), Susan (Steve) Cote, and Laura (Bob) Taurchini, his stepchildr­en; Kathy (George) Garamy, Nancy (Mark) Piccirillo,

James (Grace) Burns, his sister, Mary Vagnini, brothers; Frank (Jane), John (Margaret), and his sister-in-law, Rose Antonini, brother-in-law, Michael and sister-in-law, Donna, and his grandchild­ren; Thomas (Ximena) Cherry, Marisa and Katie Donenfeld. , Sara Brim, Alicia and Janine Taurchini, Jason and Anna Cote, his great grandson, Matias, his step-grandchild­ren; Alyssa and Mark Piccirillo, Tyler and Austin Burns, Matthew and Christophe­r Garamy, and many nieces and nephews.
