Agnes Mary (Novak) Swetz, age 97, of Fairfield, passed away the morning of Sunday, January 23, 2022 with her family by her side. Born July 18, 1924 in Dixon City, Pennsylvan­ia, Agnes was a Fairfield resident for most of her life. She worked at Chance Vought until the war ended and later at Remington Rand for over 45 years. She was an active member of Holy Family Church in Fairfield.

Agnes is survived by her daughter, Agnes M. Roberts (Larry); sister, Helen Doyle; and grandsons, Gary Cahill (Kerrie), and Chris Cahill (Stephanie); great-grandchild­ren, Brett, Nicolas, Justin, Jake, and Ella; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her son, George J. Swetz, as well as 10 brothers and sisters. Agnes lived for her family; they were truly her greatest joy. She will be missed immensely.

The family would like to give thanks to the staff at Jewish Senior Services, especially to Lorna, Donnette, Beth, Louisa, Tonisha “T”, April, Keisha, Chanelle, Serena, Nancy , Letresha, Linda (PT), Ann, Andy, Carmen, Mo, Michela, Cylina, Fab, and Kit, as well as Stacy, Kelly, and Veronica from Hospice. You all truly cared and supported our mother, as well as the family, through this most difficult time. There are no words to express our sincerest gratitude and appreciati­on for the extraordin­ary care not only given to our mother, but also to our family. Their love, dedication, concern, thoughtful­ness, considerat­ion, compassion, and kindness is sincerely appreciate­d. They were always ready to help at a moment’s notice; so attentive to every need. We will forever be grateful to these extraordin­ary people for the rest of our lives.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 11:00am at Holy Family Church, 700 Old Stratfield Road, Fairfield. The family will be receiving guests at Holy Family Church starting at 10:30am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, please consider offering a Mass to be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Agnes’ memory.
