Shirley B. Richmond, age 86, of Stratford, beloved wife of George Richmond, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. Born and raised in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Betty) Sabo Semega, Shirley had been a Stratford Town resident for more than 50 years. She was a graduate of Bassick High School and later went on to work as a bookkeeper, most recently for the former Fairway Beef Company of Bridgeport. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishione­r of Our Lady of Grace Church. Shirley volunteere­d at Second Hill Lane Elementary School, for many years, while her children attended . Shirley enjoyed gardening, cooking, and researchin­g informatio­n to provide advice to others. She prided herself on always getting the “Best Deal” and religiousl­y watched “The Voice, The Masked Singer and This is Us “television shows. In addition to her husband,

George, Shirley is survived by her daughters, Michelle Kalajian and her husband Michael of Framingham, MA, Leslie Richmond of Stratford and Cheryl Hurley and Walter Ducher, II of Ontario, NY; and leaves behind her grandchild­ren Lorinda, Krysta, Melanie and James Kalajian; as well as nieces Carolyn Smith and Jayne Tacke. She was predecease­d by her infant son, Kyle; and her brother, Robert Semega, and his wife, Marion. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 29 at 11am directly at Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford, with burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery, Monroe.
