Gary C. Caserta Sr., age 77, of Stratford, beloved husband of Janice Perron Caserta, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, with his loving family by his side. Born on April 17, 1945 in Hoboken, New Jersey. A proud U.S. Marine Corp veteran, Gary was a retired Healthcare Administrator, having worked for many nursing facilities in the local area. Gary began his career in nursing at Bridgeport Hospital, which is where he met the love of his life and best friend, Janice. He eventually moved into nursing home administration, and worked diligently to earn his Master’s Degrees in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration. He worked at many facilities over the years, as his specialty was being “the fixer.” He loved word puzzles and found great satisfaction in sorting through and solving issues. He was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and the Jets. One of his favorite hobbies was fishing, as it provided quiet time to connect with his loved ones. He enjoyed spending his time in their garden surrounded by his favorite Sunflowers and feeding the birds while waiting to see his favorite yellow Finch. He was often a sought-after advisor for many family members, and he was always willing to lend an ear and provide advice. In his later years, his greatest joy was his grandchildren. He enjoyed their quiet talks and watching them play soccer. Family was what mattered most. In addition to his beloved wife, Janice, of 50 years, survivors include two loving children, Gary C. Caserta Jr. and his wife, Veronica, and Amy C. Caserta; two cherished grandchildren, Brady and Olivia Caserta; as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, dear friends and colleagues. As well as his favorite co-pilot, Bandit. He was predeceased by his father, Carl I.; and mother, Ann Caserta. Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial.
