Patricia Kearney Campbell, 88, of Southport, CT, died on September 25, 2022, at peace and surrounded by her family. She was predeceased in 2014 by her husband of 49 years, Edward James Campbell Jr. She leaves behind five children: Marilyn (Matthew Hobby) of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY, Edward III (Alicyn) of Edgewater, MD, Steven (Alexandra) of Rye, NY, Sharon (Mark Weiner) of Irvine, CA and Linda (David Lipner) of Weston, CT; and 10 grandchildren: Lena Hobby, Finn and Poppy Campbell, Brendan, Thomas, Kevin and Drew Campbell, and Hannah, Nathan and Joshua Lipner. She is also survived by her sister, Jean ( John) McLeod of Tampa, FL; and predeceased by her brother, Frank “Budge” (Mary Anne) Kearney.

Additionally, Patricia was the sister-in-law of Constance and Robert Hurley, Peter (deceased), Eleanor Campbell, Carol and Kenneth (deceased) Toomey, and Robert and Janet (deceased) Campbell. She was an aunt to 31 nieces and nephews and a great-aunt to their children.

Born in 1934 in St. Paul, MN, to Helen and Frank Kearney, Patricia moved to Tampa, FL, at an early age. After graduating from Florida State University, Patricia produced the company newsletter at Tampa Electric for many years, a job she loved. She enjoyed a variety of adventures in her youth, including a cross-country road trip in a borrowed convertible with her best friend, winning the Tampa Tarpon Tournament while fishing with her brother on the Gulf of Mexico, and traveling to Europe on the Queen Mary. Her father introduced her to Ed, an insurance executive who was relocated to Tampa from New York. Patricia and Ed married and eventually moved with their family of five children to Johnstown, PA, then to West Orange, NJ. Together, they raised their children to value hard work, integrity, family, and faith. They treasured their friends and their children’s friends. They spent their retirement years in Bonita Springs, FL. Patricia moved to Southport, CT, after Ed’s passing.

Patricia enjoyed a long and fulfilling life, highlighted by her love of Florida beaches, home décor shopping (and returning), spoiling her grandchildren, and a glass of wine while sharing laughs with family and friends. But most of all, her legacy is defined by an unwavering moral compass, devotion to her husband and wholehearted commitment to her children.
