Lawrence Charles Richter, age 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Hewitt Health and Rehab Center. Born in Bridgeport, CT on March 27, 1956, he was the son of the late Edmund and Virginia Richter. Larry lived in Trumbull his entire life and graduated from Trumbull High School in 1975. Early on, he was employed at DM Reads and Stew Leonard’s, then worked over 20 years at Stop and Shop prior to his illness.

Larry was a devoted member of the Derby Elks since the mid-1980s. Many of the members were like his extended family. In 2006, he enjoyed serving as their exalted ruler and one of the highlights of that year was traveling to their national convention in Florida. Larry loved sports and was a devoted Mets and Raiders fan. He was an avid bird watcher and loved animals. He is survived by his siblings: Arlene Ross and husband, Donald of Fairfield, Jim Richter of Las Vegas, Judy Schmidt and husband, Donald of Trumbull and John Richter of Trumbull; in addition to many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his beloved cat, Bozey.

Friends and family may pay their respects on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. The Derby Elks will exemplify their ritual at 6:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service. Interment will be private in Nichols Village Cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Hewitt Health and Rehabilita­tion Center for the exceptiona­l care they provided Larry. In addition, a special callout to his roommate, Stephen Scanlon, for his care and attention to Larry.
