-

Joseph Nicholas Colombo, age 73, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Deborah Mish Colombo, passed away on September 23, 2023 peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 13, 1950 in Stamford, CT, he was a son of the late Joseph and Bertha Rich Colombo. Joe grew up in Stamford, CT and graduated from Stamford Catholic High School and Providence College in 1972. He worked for the Schaeffler Group for 46 years in sales and retired in 2019 after being a District Sales Manager for many years.

Joe’s family was everything to him. His contagious laugh and love of life made everyone in his presence happy. In his home, Joe would fill the house with his love of Motown music, teaching the grandkids golf, and you could bet every Sunday he was making his famous gravy and meatballs that he couldn’t wait to enjoy with his family. Joe had a passion for golf. He took part in the Whitney Farms Men’s League in Monroe where he would spend time with his friends playing a round of golf for pure enjoyment and happiness. He shared his love of golf with his two grandchildren who took up the passion for it with Joe by their side. But above all things, he was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his devoted wife of 51 years, Debbie, survivors include his loving daughters Suzanne Colombo of Trumbull, Melissa Colombo-Gomez and his son-in-law Andres Gomez (the son he never had) of Shelton. The loves of his life, his two grandchildren, Alexa and Joey. His two brothers Christopher Colombo and his wife Toni, and John Colombo. His brother-inlaw and best friend Joe Mish and his wife Maryann. Along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. In loving memory of Joe, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date in the spring. Online condolences may be left at SpadaccinoFuneralHome.com.
