Carol Boland

-

Carol Boland, age 87, of Shelton entered into rest on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Griffin Hospital. She was the devoted wife of 58 years of the love of her life the late Ralph “Buddy” Boland. Carol was born in Derby on February 22, 1936, daughter of the late Vincent and Steffa (Stoberski) Szymanski, and lived in Shelton all of her life.

She spent the majority of her working career as the Manager of Bahner Farm Equipment. A job where she loved interacting with the people that came through the door. Oftentimes she would do repairs on chainsaws and trimmers as customers waited. Carol loved spending time with friends traveling, cruises, trips to the casino, Broadway shows or just entertaining at her home. She liked cooking, sewing, playing Bingo and going shopping. But most of all Carol cherished spending time with her family and loved hosting holidays and birthdays and attending the many school and sporting events her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participated in.

She is the beloved mother of David Boland and Mary Beth Teves, the proud grandmother of Stephanie Musfeldt (Shawn Dickson) and Mark Boland, and greatgrandmother of Ariana and Andrew Dickson. She also leaves a brother, Robert Szymanski and his wife Barbara, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Her procession will then leave the funeral home for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Lawrence Church at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.

Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
