Kim Blake Catano
Kim Blake Catano, age 58, passed away on March 1, 2024 in New York, NY, after a brief fight with an aggressive cancer.
Kim was born on October 5, 1965 in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Germaine “Gerry” Paul. She was raised in Milford, CT, where she was close with her grandparents, the late Norman and Yvette Dupuis. Kim graduated in 1983 from Jonathan Law High School and also cultivated her love for musical theater at the Educational Center for the Arts (ECA) in New Haven. She attended Southern Connecticut State University and also studied theater and costume design at Yale University.
Kim was a creative spirit who pursued her passions as a talented singer, AEA actress, henna artist, face painter, incredibly sensitive psychic and comedian. She was active in the New York theater community, toured Europe with a production of Hair and performed at and enjoyed Renaissance Fairs across the Northeast, even marrying her husband at the New York Renaissance Faire. Kim was also known for her humor, wit and marvelous cooking.
Kim is survived by her loving husband of over 24 years, Victor Gabriel Catano, and their beloved pup, Dany, of New York, NY, as well as her sister, Victoria Blake, of Milford. She will also be remembered by her motherin-law Janis Wood Catano, uncle Donald Dupuis and his wife Patricia, and cousins Emily and Allison Dupuis. In addition to her mother and grandparents, Kim was predeceased by her father, Charles Blake, and father-in-law, Victor Michael Catano. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on March 16, 2024 at the Cabaret at Queens Theatre, 14 United Nations S, Queens, NY 11368.
