Beverly Ruth Bragg Finch, 76, loving and devoted wife of Deacon Dean William Finch (deceased) and mother of Stephanie Finch Bartkowski, the late Christie Ruth Finch, Sarah Allison Migonis, and Brittany Finch Prior, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Born in Vicksburg, Mississipp­i in 1948, Beverly was one of six children of the late Charles Albert Bragg and the late Elizabeth Estelle Schuman Bragg. She is the sister of Gerald “Gerry” Bragg (deceased), Barbara Jones (Mike), Janet Hungerman (Robin), Charles “Billy” Bragg (Marta) and George Bragg (Margo), and the aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Beverly and her family moved to Metairie, Louisiana in 1949 where she lived the majority of her childhood and young adult life. She graduated from Mercy Academy in New Orleans and attended the University of Southweste­rn Louisiana in Lafayette. During the 1969 Carnival season she was chosen as a maid in the ball of Athenians. She married Dean William Finch at St. John the Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 15, 1973.

Beverly was a woman of great strength and character who took pride in her southern roots and cared deeply about her family. She was a devout Catholic and spent many years as a fulltime mother instilling the importance of love, forgivenes­s, and service to others.

She possessed many, many creative talents and enjoyed making wonderful memories for her family, from hiding special sea shells for her children to find on the beach, to making her famous homemade peanut butter balls for family and friends every Christmas. Once her children were older, she pursued a career in Medicare billing for retired nuns at The School Sisters of Notre Dame in Wilton, CT where she retired in 2013.

Her strength and pursuit to live a life full of loving kindness has been passed to her surviving family including daughters Stephanie and husband David of Torrington, Sarah and husband Chris of Fairfield, Brittany and husband Philip of Stratford, and 2 grandsons Joshua Dean and Nathaniel Charles of Stratford.

The funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 3, 2024 at Our Lady of Peace Church in Stratford, CT.
