June Barletto
June Ann Barletto, age 81, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Anthony D. Barletto, passed away at Carolton Chronic and Convalescent Hospital on April 13, 2024. Born in Mt. Kisco, NY, she was the daughter of the late Phillip J. and Anna Russo Chavetta. She was predeceased by her sister, Dolores Dougiello; the two of them were the best of friends and called themselves Thelma and Louise.
June was a woman who enjoyed many quiet pursuits. She was a passionate gardener, a talented cook, an accomplished seamstress and embroiderer, and an avid reader who was a regular at the Fairfield Woods Public Library. She was also a regular at Sasco Beach, where she loved to sit under “her tree” near the jetty. She relished relaxing on her patio and by the pool and sharing food and wine with friends and family. She also enjoyed dancing; whether in the kitchen with her family or in her final years with her beloved caregiver, Colette, and the workers at Sunrise of Fairfield; Juney danced with rhythm and a smile. After retiring from the Fairfield Public Schools as an administrative assistant to the director of Food Services, she enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren, with each of whom she shared a special bond.
June’s memory will be lovingly remembered by daughter, Jennifer Barletto Klein and husband Lenny, daughter, Melissa Barletto Weinstein and husband Josh, and grandchildren, Samuel and Lidia Klein, and Téa, Jacob, and Luca Weinstein. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Francine Giannotti Hunt, Frank Giannotti III, Charlie Dougiello and David Dougiello.
In abiding with her wishes, all services will be private, and she will be entombed next to her husband, Tony, in Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport. The Commerce Hill Dougiello Funeral Home in Bridgeport has been entrusted with the services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund in memory of June.
