Reuse Revive and

One person’s trash is another person’s salvage.

-

• Old Cigar Boxes. Instead of discarding old cigar boxes, repurpose them by building trunks, tables or small dressers with them. You don’t always have to go out and buy pieces of wood, reuse some that you already have.

• Wool Blankets. If you have an old wool blanket that’s slightly worn, you’re in luck! Wool makes for great pillows and curtains, which add character and warmth.

• Jeans. Cover a piece of scrap wood in a pair of old jeans you have around. This is a great way to add a pop of color and texture to your space.

• Broken Jewelry. Did your favorite necklace break and you just can’t get yourself to throw it away? Have a little fun repurposing your broken jewelry, and turn it into curtain tiebacks or ornaments. Small accents go a long way.

• Old Hardware. You can incorporate lone doorknobs, latches or utensils into your bathrooms, kitchen and bedrooms as accent pieces. Take an old latch from last year’s backyard renovation and drill it onto a side table or decorative chest.

• Linen. Vintage linen can also double as an outdoor tablecloth or upholstery for a worn chair. This is an easy way to repurpose a common household item.

• Wood. Whether it’s driftwood you found on the beach or wood left over from a project, don’t let it go to waste. Make a rustic shelf for your mugs or a sturdy outdoor bench for the kids.
