What Christel’s followers may not know is that she didn’t realize her Scandinavian style of living until misfortune struck. She explains: “We were living in an old rented farmhouse until a letter of termination fluttered into the house in 2013. The farmhouse was to be demolished and replaced by a new building. What looked like a catastrophe in the beginning turned out to be a blessing in disguise. After a long search, we found our 1920s forever home.”

Christel’s posts are filled with gorgeous images showcasing her beautiful home, outdoor she-shed, flower gardens and her renowned German recipes. She also has a love for photography and shares her talents with 31.3K followers worldwide. When asked how to describe her niche style, Christel explains: “I love Scandinavian design mixed with farmhouse country, a little boho and industrial elements.” Bright white is the foundation for walls and seating, along with limed wood or rattan, natural materials, fur accessories in neutral or gray tones, and accents of discreet pink.
