Hi friends!

I am having so much fun sharing our home projects with you over the last few months. I love adding character to each space and turning this little cottage we are currently residing in into our home sweet home. Since this is the kitchen/bath issue, we completed an entire bathroom makeover from top to bottom. My overall goal when designing this space was to make it feel peaceful and calm, like stepping into our very own spa each time we enter our bathroom.

We completed the entire makeover ourselves including demo, tile, trim, flooring and finish work. My husband was the muscle behind bringing my vision to life.

The makeover took us roughly a year from start to finish, with breaks in between where we completed other home projects.

The spa-like feel began with the Carrara Marble tile from Riad Tile. We used the 4 x 8 subway tile for this project, and it is absolutely beautiful and classic. It will never go out of style. From there, I knew immediately I wanted white walls and a small shelf to display sweet bath products, décor and artwork.

The first phase of our makeover consisted of ripping out multiple layers of old linoleum flooring. We replaced it with 1 x 8 cedar fence boards, sanded smooth, and topped with two coats of Zinnser primer and two coats of Valspar Satin floor paint in Bay Waves.
