WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Shallow, round baskets

• Spray primer in white or gray • Spray paint—matte finish • Wire

• Round mirrors

• Epoxy

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Prime the baskets with spray primer and apply two coats of desired spray paint color in a matte finish on the inside and outside of each basket.

2. Once the paint is dry, create a hanging loop with wire on the back of each basket.

3. Choose round mirrors that match the inside-bottom diameter of each basket and secure them into place with epoxy or heavy-duty glue.

4. Let the baskets dry completely for 24

hours and then hang them as desired.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Metal waste basket (with large holes) • Old pair of jeans or denim scraps • Scissors or rotary cutter

• Ruler

• Fabric glue

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Cut multiple ½-inch strips of denim from old jeans or scraps that are long enough to fit around the largest diameter of the basket.

2. Wrap the top and bottom edges of the basket with

denim strips as desired until they’re covered.

3. Weave individual strips of denim horizontally around the basket, moving up a row at a time until it’s completely covered.

4. At the end of each row, secure the denim in

place to itself with fabric glue.

5. Trim the strips as needed.

6. To create a two-toned effect, turn the denim strip over to reveal the lighter (or darker) side of the fabric.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Small metal basket (rectangular,

with large holes)

• Jute twine

• Masking tape

• Scissors

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Wrap the top and bottom edges of the basket with twine (as desired) until covered. Secure by knotting and tying off.

2. Weave 8 to 10 strands of jute twine at a time horizontally around the basket, moving up a row at a time until it’s completely covered.

3. For ease in threading while weaving, tape together all the twine ends with masking tape.

4. Tie off the strings at the end of

each row and trim with scissors.

5. Rope Bowls

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Thick cotton rope (the thicker the rope, the

faster it goes)

• Bowls

• Glue gun

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Start by folding the end of the rope and gluing together to form a cleaner edge. 2. Place it on top of a bowl that’s upside-down and glue small sections at a time so you follow the shape of the bowl. Work from the bottom of the bowl to the top.

4. Continue until your bowl is covered with rope. If you’d prefer, add several layers of rope.

5. Trim the rope once you’re finished covering the bowl and glue the ends to prevent fraying.

6. Fold the end over the edge of the bowl and glue it in place.

6. Kitchen Wall Caddy

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Two baskets

• Spray primer in white or gray • Spray paint—matte finish • Sisal or jute rope

• Jute twine

• Heavy-duty glue

• Felt (optional)

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

1. Prime the baskets with spray primer and apply two coats of the desired color of spray paint in a matte finish on the inside and outside of both baskets.

2. Determine the distance between the two baskets and cut the rope to the appropriate length +4 inches. 3. Thread one end of each piece of rope through the top edge of the bottom basket at each corner.

4. Bend the end of rope back on itself about 2 inches to create a loop. Then tie and lash it into place with twine.

5. To prevent the cut ends from fraying, as well as knots of rope and twine, dab them with heavy-duty glue.

6. Thread the opposite end of each piece of rope through the top edge of the top basket at each corner. Create a loop, as before, and secure it with more tying and lashing of jute twine.

7. To create a hanging apparatus, cut four more pieces of rope to the desired length, thread them through the top edge of the top basket at the corners, next to other loops.

8. Tie and lash all four opposite ends of rope together and create a loop for hanging.

9. If desired, cut felt to the appropriate size to cover the bottom of each basket.
