3 Ways to Pair

Nontraditional Holiday Colors

-

Lauren embraces rainbow hues inside her home during the holidays. Here’s how to incorporate fantastical colors in your own Christmas abode this year:

1. FIND A BASE COLOR.

This shade will be incorporated in every room to offer a unifying factor in your spectrum of colors on display. Lauren loves blue, so she selected that as her base color. “I’ve always been drawn to blue,” she says. Choose a color you like and won’t easily tire of … because it will appear all throughout your home.

2. STAY IN THE COLOR FAMILY.

While Lauren uses an abundance of blue in her home, she doesn’t just rely on one tint of that color to dominate. She leans into aqua, turquoise, bluejay, light blues and dark blues, along with other shades that have cold undertones like blue has, such as teal or mint green.

3. THINK TRADITIONAL … THEN, MIX IT UP.

Red and green are classic Christmas colors, but Lauren takes that pairing and offers a new spin: Instead of evergreen hues, she selects lime green; instead of red, hot pink. Create your own take on classic Christmas hues.
