Know Your Firewood
All logs are not created equal. Hardwoods, like oak, birch, and ash, are slow-growing and dense, which translates to a longer burn time ideal for stoves and fireplaces. Soft woods, like cedar and pine, grow faster and therefore ignite and burn rapidly. They offer stronger fragrance but also give off more smoke, so they’re better suited for outdoor use in campfires or fire pits.
