WRAPPED IN TEXTURE
Bring the beautifully rustic texture of birch bark to your front door as a container for a spray of muted fall florals. Roll a large sheet of birch bark into a cone, and use painter’s tape to secure the shape. Along the overlapped edge, mark placement for holes to create a series of wire Xs to join the layers. At the tips of each X, drill small holes through both layers. Thread annealed wire through the holes diagonally to make each X. Repeat to double up the wires and then twist the ends together on the inside and clip the excess. Finish by wiring a loop of bark to the inside back edge for hanging. Choose an assortment of fall leaves, eucalyptus, berries, pinecones and pods to fill the cone, and then hang on your door.
