WINGED SURPRISE

Country Sampler Autumn Decorating SIP 2018 - - Inside - DESIGNED BY DAWN MERCEDES BARRETT. PHOTOS COURTESY OF BLOG.GLUEDOTS.COM.

In just 15 minutes, you can turn a run-ofthe-mill lamp shade into a creepy bat cave! Dawn Barrett at the Glue Dots blog says these concealed critters are sure to delight unsuspecting family members. Use an electronic die-cutting machine to cut out several sizes of bats from black card stock. The largest one here has a 7" wingspan, while the smallest has a 4½" wingspan. Use Removable Glue Dots to secure the bats on the inside of your lamp shade. Make sure the paper is not near or touching the light bulbs, some of which can get hot over time. Turn on your lamp when it gets dark for a Halloween surprise.
