This starry cres­cent moon is per­fect for mag­i­cal au­tumn nights. First, cut out a moon shape from ply­wood. Seal the sur­face with clear Poly­crylic. Dab on crackle medium with a sponge and let dry. Ran­domly dab on white paint and let dry. Print a Hal­loween phrase to fit the moon us­ing a laser copier. Tear out each word, ar­range on the moon, and then glue to the sur­face us­ing matte heavy gel medium. Seal with Poly­crylic. Re­peat the crackle coat, avoid­ing the words. Ran­domly dab on an­tique-white paint, heavy and light. Leave some spots show­ing the wood crackle. Around the words, blend the paint onto the torn pa­per edges. Dry brush some ar­eas with white paint. Ap­ply two coats of Poly­crylic. To an­tique the sur­face and high­light the cracks, brush on small ar­eas of brown glaze and wipe off. Ap­ply two coats of Poly­crylic. Glue a few sil­ver stars to the front of the moon. String match­ing stars on cord to drape with the moon.
