MAN IN THE MOON
This starry crescent moon is perfect for magical autumn nights. First, cut out a moon shape from plywood. Seal the surface with clear Polycrylic. Dab on crackle medium with a sponge and let dry. Randomly dab on white paint and let dry. Print a Halloween phrase to fit the moon using a laser copier. Tear out each word, arrange on the moon, and then glue to the surface using matte heavy gel medium. Seal with Polycrylic. Repeat the crackle coat, avoiding the words. Randomly dab on antique-white paint, heavy and light. Leave some spots showing the wood crackle. Around the words, blend the paint onto the torn paper edges. Dry brush some areas with white paint. Apply two coats of Polycrylic. To antique the surface and highlight the cracks, brush on small areas of brown glaze and wipe off. Apply two coats of Polycrylic. Glue a few silver stars to the front of the moon. String matching stars on cord to drape with the moon.
