SURROUND A PHOTO WITH LEAVES

Country Sampler Autumn Decorating SIP 2018 - - Inside -

This enchanting leaf mat invites a closer look at a cherished photo. As the season turns, collect a few large leaves with nice shapes. Set them aside to dry, weighing down the center to prevent curling. When dry, choose a favorite and enhance the faded color by spritzing lightly with fall shades of Design Master Colortool, which is a slightly translucent spray that is often used to tint flowers. Using a craft knife, carefully cut a rectangle in the leaf to accommodate a small photo. Choose a scrapbook paper that will fit your frame, and then center and attach the photo. Tack the leaf mat over the photo with a few dots of hot glue just where it touches the surface. Do not flatten the leaf. Set the finished piece in your frame.

CRAFTING HINT Choose a simple blackand-white or sepiatoned photo that won’t compete with the hues of the leaf.
