Four Tips for Success

Country Sampler Holiday Homes December 2018 - - Festive Homes -

Tammy Damore offers these tips to keep your Christmas plans on track throughout the year:

Keep a planner on hand with notes for ideas, what needs to be done, and an ideal schedule. “After I have a direction, I plan for the year. Literally what I need to pick up throughout the year, furniture I need to move to the basement and by when, and so on,” Tammy says.

Limit the number of irons in your fire as the holiday approaches. “I have a rule that all painting, projects, or any remodeling, needs to be complete by October 1st,” Tammy explains. “Because my brain is in full-blown Christmas by then.”

Organize your decor so you always know what you have and what condition it’s in. “I have bins full of floral picks and bins full of garlands and lights, one for ornaments, tabletop trees, stockings and Christmas pillow covers,” Tammy says.

Maintain a reliable list of suppliers for items that need refreshing year to year. “I do have favorite sources for my Christmas decor,” Tammy reveals. “All of my live greens I get from CF Greens, my flocked trees are all from King Of Christmas, the mercury-glass bowl full of mercury-glass trees is from one of my favorite shops, Lovefeast Shop.”
