For this project, we used paint to age the hinges and to add dimension to the snowflakes. Get a similar look by following these easy tips.

• To age new hinges, lightly rub on a medium to dark shade of metallic gray chalky-finish paint using a damp sponge.

• To give plain metal snowflakes more dimension, dry brush them lightly with white chalky-finish paint and then highlight random areas with medium and dark shades of gray metallic chalky paint.
