Hang this window ornament in front of a bulb to light up the scene.

Look Through a Window

Craft an ornament that expresses the delight that can be seen through a window on Christmas morning. Remove the backing and acrylic insert from a wood dollhouse window. If your window doesn't have an insert, cut one from heavyweight acetate or lightweight acrylic. Choose a holiday silhouette from a copyright-free image-sharing website. Size the image to match the window insert, and then print onto parchment paper and cut out. Spray the front of the insert with adhesive and attach the image. Reinsert the acrylic into the frame, securing with hot glue if necessary. Create a hanger with two eye screws and a length of ribbon.

Decorate Vintage Scales

Give a row of old-fashioned scales a nostalgic seasonal treatment like Jessica Russell of Itty Bitty Farmhouse did here. When displayed in the kitchen, the vignette is sure to bring back the warm feeling of baking for Christmas with your grandparents. Top each scale with a bit of holiday magic, such as a shiny old ornament or two or an antique mason jar transformed into a faux snow globe.
