PAINTED CHAIR-BACK RACK

Pair the back from a damaged chair with a narrow box to fashion a charming wall rack like this one from Carlene Blair of Organized Clutter. Paint the chair back and box with your chosen colors and distress lightly with sandpaper. Attach the box to the base of the chair back with screws and washers. Install sawtooth hangers on the back of the box and cup hooks on the underside. Tape a kitchen-themed stencil on the front of the box and paint the lettering with a contrasting color. Once dry, apply clear wax to the project, let dry for 15 minutes, and then wipe down with a soft rag. Hang the rack on your wall to hold cookbooks, tea towels and more.
