Ella Marshall of Dover, Ohio, enjoys incorporating special family pieces in her Christmas decorating. For example, she uses her father’s former lunch pail as the base for a festive countertop vignette in her kitchen. “My dad’s last lunch bucket is filled with holiday joy,” she says.
In the Pittsburgh home of Lynne Rynkiewicz, this 1800s step-back cupboard (a Craigslist find) is crowned with vintage kerosene cans twined with lights and greenery, while a simple lighted wreath is centered over the doors. “My Christmas decorating style is 100% primitive and lots of white lights,” Lynne observes.
