INTO THE Fold

Folded paper fan ornaments can offer a whimsical touch to a windowpane when hung individually or to a mantel when strung together as a garland. Dress up the middle of each fan with a vintage button to add more personal flair.

1. To craft these ornaments, you’ll need two 81/2" x 11" sheets of patterned paper per fan. Make a pencil mark on each sheet 1" down on the long edge. Using that mark as a guide, accordion-fold each paper separately.

2. Then fold each piece in half widthwise and crease in the center. Tape or glue the inside edges together to form one half of the circle. Repeat with the other folded paper.

3. Tape or glue the fans together along the long edges. Glue a small paper circle and a button in the center and add a string for hanging.
