Hip to be Square
Looking to fill a blank wall space? Make a statement with your treasures by following the four-quadrant design principle.
1. Begin by creating a focal point in the upper left quadrant. In her family room, Terri draws attention by hanging a green wall cupboard topped with a birdhouse and figurines.
2. Offset the focal point by displaying smaller items in the upper right quadrant. Terri added a candle sconce and mini hooked rug.
3. Fill the lower left quadrant with a variety of items that carry visual weight. Terri selected a pine table, primitive stool and wooden bowls.
4. Finally, place a solitary item with some height in the lower right quadrant. Terri filled the space with a ladder-back chair that coordinates with the table.
