Who’s on the Guest List?
Add seasonal whimsy—without frightening anyone away—by making these cute owl napkin rings.
Materials and Tools
• Metal napkin rings with flat surface • Patterned scrapbook paper
• Decoupage medium or glue
• Chipboard rounds, about 2" in diameter • Black craft paint
• Silver glitter, fine
• Wooden owl cutouts, about 2" tall
• Small craft brush
• Small twigs from your yard or an old grapevine wreath
• Glue gun
Instructions
1. Cut scrapbook paper into strips to fit your napkin rings. Adhere the paper strips to the napkin rings with decoupage medium or glue. Set aside to dry.
2. Cut crescent moon shapes out of the chipboard rounds. Search for a template online, or lay a second round over the first, offsetting it, and trace the edge of the top round to make a crescent moon shape.
3. Coat the moon shapes in decoupage medium or glue, and sprinkle with silver glitter. Set aside to dry.
4. Brush the owl cutouts with black paint, taking care to include any perforated details. Set aside to dry.
5. Once all the components are dry and ready to assemble, use a glue gun to adhere the moons to the napkin rings. Once those are set, glue on twigs and then the owls. Take care that glue doesn’t seep out through any perforations in the owl cutouts.
