Past Meets Present
Combine textures to marry elements of the past with the sophistication of the present for a fully integrated design. Here’s how:
G Shop for Size. Start with a large, sturdy industrial piece around which to build a vignette. A vintage railroad cart, cast-iron salvage or set of repurposed lockers is ideal.
G Select a Color Palette. Monochromatic whites and neutrals are great for an understated look, but you might opt to pop in a favorite color or two.
G Use Artifacts as Art. Old books, vintage photographs, baskets and unique collectibles mesh together to blend eras with style.
G Go Natural. Incorporate wood objects and architectural salvage into the display. Chippy balusters, wood frames and shapely mirrors create interest.
G Add Seasonal Touches. Tuck in fresh or faux greenery and consider draping a string of white lights to complete the look.
