GLAMOROUS GALLERY

-

A clock-themed collection, arranged artfully, becomes more than the sum of its parts. René chose to dress up the wall space above a sideboard with neutral yet warm tones that allow the time-tumbled items to shine. At top right, an old window painted white and decorated with a ribbon becomes a frame for an old clock. Apply decoupage medium to adhere scrapbook paper featuring old-fashioned cursive handwriting to the front of the window’s glass. Use a short length of sturdy wire to suspend the clock from a nail on the back of the window. Underneath the window, René repurposed two long, slender drawers from a sewing cabinet as shelves. Paint similar drawers black, and then add antiqued silver knobs to the front for contrast. Tuck in clockfaces to serve as backdrops for amber bottles, small clocks and soft greenery. The black panel on the left provides a strong vertical element to the composition and features another clock as well as an antique metal candle sconce. Continue the theme on the sideboard with groupings of clocks and watches.
