KITSCHY KITCHEN
Play with a food theme for this kitchen clock made out of an enamel roasting pan and parts that can be purchased inexpensively from a hardware or crafts store. Punch a hole through the base of the pan to accommodate the shaft of a clock mechanism. Use a hammer to drive a sturdy nail through the thin metal, widening the hole, if needed, by tapping through a larger nail or a round head screwdriver. Assemble the clock mechanism and hands. Paint plastic clock numbers white, distressing the finish lightly after it dries. Attach the numbers to the pan with hot glue. Add vintage-style fruit and vegetable magnets in place of some of the numbers.
