Establish a theme by combining shapes, patterns and colors. Deb cherishes the child’s cupboard with crow motif that her grandfather built. Here, she accentuates the heirloom with mustard yellow, barn red and primitive black accessories that feature crows, stars and gingham.
Opposite: Deb likes to introduce architectural elements to spaces that lack woodwork or stonework. In the living room, she creates character by centering an electric fireplace on the main wall. She filled the room’s corners with an orphaned screen door and a farmhouse door. The wing chair and rocker form Deb’s favorite seating area.
