Mismatched MASTERFULLY

Favorite objects don’t need to be related in theme to create a beautiful vignette like this one on Jan’s bedroom dresser. You can achieve this look in three easy steps:

1. LAYER. Gather framed art, photographs, signage or any other like-size pieces and layer them upright against each other, starting with the tallest pieces in the back and then overlapping them until you’ve created a solid backdrop.

2. STACK. Create stacks of vintage books, magazines or wooden boards in varying heights. Top them with smaller objects, such as petite trophies or clocks, or a single standout item such as a typewriter.

3. SPREAD. Fill in any gaps between the stacks and the backdrop with medium-size collectibles. In this case, a canine-themed trophy and two tall spools do the trick.
