Capture a Memory

Dress up a past-its-prime aluminum minnow bucket for a woodsy display. First, brush on red chalky-finish paint. When dry, align a buffalo-check stencil on the front of the bucket and secure it with low-tack tape. Apply black paint to the stencil to create the plaid pattern. Use another stencil to add a word to the front. After it dries, sand lightly with 220-grit sandpaper, and finish with two coats of spray sealer. Complete the scene by tucking greenery into the bucket and small pinecones inside a weathered lantern.
