The Daily Dish

-

Turn a standard object such as a plate or platter into a frame that features a special message. We transformed an octagonal ironstone dish into a chalkboard sign, leaving the crisp and shapely edge of the dish as a highlight. To replicate this craft, simply mask off the edge of the dish with painter’s tape and brush the inside of the platter with two coats of black chalkboard paint. Let dry thoroughly and remove the tape. Pewter plates, copper trays and other caddies would work just as well for make-do frames.
