AMERICAN ADVERTISING POT

-

POINT OF INTEREST: “The blue advertising pot shown is the only one I’ve ever found ‘in the wild,’ as they say, and it’s also my only American piece,” Amy explains. “I found it at a barn sale and paid $20 for it and have seen this pot with lid sold for over $100. It dates to the late 1800s, early 1900s, as with most of my advertising pot pieces, and the maker of this cold cream eventually sold the formula to current-day Pond’s.”

IDEA TO INSPIRE: The warm finishes of the clock and pins coordinate with the bold wood grain of the china cabinet.

INSIGHTS: “Woods and whites is one of my favorite combinations. This old clock is a family heirloom, and I love displaying it throughout my home.

The antique books here and wooden pins were all thrifted at estate sales. Adding in faux (or real) florals always helps lighten up any display and makes it feel fresh.”
