WOODEN MASHERS AND ROLLING PINS
EASY ACCESS: Antique mashers and rolling pins have seen a surge in popularity recently and are readily available at flea markets.
COORDINATED LOOK: A small collection of butter paddles stacked atop a vintage scale lends additional warm wood tones to the display, amplifying the overall character.
INSIGHTS: “If I love it, chances are, I collect it,” Melissa says. “My vintage potato masher collection was born when my mother gifted me a few of her own. Over 40 mashers later, I now have a collection within my collection—green-handled mashers. I tend to display like mashers together—they make a more powerful statement in numbers. My green-handled mashers usually come out in the spring and winter months. I love pairing them with my collection of green-handled rolling pins. Some mashers in my collection were purchased for as little as $2.50, while my most costly one was $30.75. When collecting mashers,
I look at size, shape and style, and try to only add pieces that are not already represented within my collection.”
