Style Show-and-Tell
Country Sampler fan Robin Botts is gearing up to refresh her home for springtime. “I enjoy decorating for spring because it is the time of year here in Elk River, Minnesota, when things begin to grow again. I love to add spring blossoms and pops of green to my decor after a long winter,” she notes, explaining vintage McCoy planters are a favorite because of their varied colors. This cabinet was once white, but she painted it a matte-finish dark gray color to contrast with her ironstone. “I started my ironstone collection with my first pitcher given to me by my grandma Ruby. She told me her memories of using the pitcher for milk at family meals. My love for them grew, and now I have over 50 pitchers in a variety of styles and sizes.”
Gloversville, New York, resident Tasha Evelyn-Chamberlain and her husband purchased their first home about a year and a half ago and have worked steadily on improvements since then. “We’ve been busy making it a comfortable home for our family,” she writes. They updated flooring, removed wallpaper, and painted woodwork and cabinets. “I upholstered and refinished most of the furniture throughout the house. It’s truly been a labor of love.”
Arranging tablescapes is something Beth Wilson revels in. “I have always loved to decorate for the holidays, and 10 years ago, I decided to decorate the table as well,” the Torrance, California, resident shares. “Christmas is my favorite season, with Halloween a close second. I do a new one each week, over 100 tablescapes so far.” (See more of Beth’s decor at www.whispersoftheheart.com.)
