Here’s a fun way to repurpose those old wire clothes hangers! Tricia Wright of Simplicity in the South made this bunny boxwood wreath from two hangers, artificial greenery, floral wire and ribbon. First, create wire forms for the body, head and ears from the hangers. Tricia’s bunny measures about 16" when finished.

With tin snips or craft wire cutters, cut the hook off one hanger and then straighten the hanger. For the body, wrap the wire around a 6"-inch diameter bucket, leaving a few inches of extra wire at each end. Cut off the remainder of the wire and set aside for the bunny's head. Twist the loose ends of the wire around the circle with needle-nose pliers. Repeat with the remainder of the wire to the create the head, using a 20-ounce canned good as the form.

Cut the hook off the second hanger and use the rounded portions to craft the ears. Adjust the size to be proportionate with the head, but leave a few extra inches at the cut ends of both ears. Starting with one ear, bend one end of the wire forward and the other backward to form hooks; this will keep the ears from flopping forward when attached to the head. Repeat on the second ear.

Wrap greenery around each wire form, securing the ends with floral wire, and overlapping subsequent pieces to hide the wire. Once the forms are covered with greenery, attach the body and head together with floral wire and then clamp the ears to the head with pliers. Add a ribbon hanger at the top and a bow at the neck.
