SERVING OF STYLE

- Written by ADRIENNE MCGEE STERRETT Designed and Styled by RENÉ HAINES Photographed by RYAN HAKE

Instead of tossing out a cheese board missing its glass dome, reimagine it as botanical wall decor. René began her project by selecting a page from an old book and an illustration of a pear to decorate the center circle. Cut out graphics from scrapbook paper, books, paper napkins, wallpaper, or even a greeting card or postcard. Paint your cheese board and, when dry, distress it with sandpaper. Use decoupage medium to adhere the paper graphics, and then surround the center circle with rope attached with hot glue. Wrap gold craft wire around the rope’s ends and glue on silk leaves. Attach a sawtooth hanger to the back of the board for easy display.
