Primitive patriotic decor welcomes guests who ascend the eight wooden steps leading to our front porch. The old wood slat- bottom chair was bought at a yard sale. It reminds me of the chairs around my Mam-Maw Cantrell’s kitchen table, where I enjoyed many a Sunday afternoon during my childhood. The antique church bench was a gift to me from Mam-Maw.
